Auf Deutsch, wenn man “einsam” ist, fühlt man allein. Aber, wenn man “zweisam” ist, dass heißt das Gefühl der Zusammenheit. Ich finde dass suß.
In German, if a person is “one-ly,” that person feels alone. But, if a person is “two-ly,” that means a feeling of togetherness. I think that’s sweet.

inanimum est enim omne, quod pulsu agitatur externo; quod autem est animal, id motu interiore et suo
Indeed, that is completely dead which moves by external compulsion; but that is alive, which moves by its own interior motion.

This probably explains why I, too, had candy as a tasty lunch (and dinner) on Sunday.

this isn’t quite a Christmas present, but I made it over Christmas break.

it’s for the baby one of my teachers from last semester had. I haven’t given it to her yet.

because, she says, as a member of the faculty, she’s not allowed to accept presents from students.
which roundly frustrates my careful plotting. namely, 1) don’t give it to her before grades come out (that’s cheating) and 2) don’t give it to her if she gives you a bad grade (that’s just… sad).

I might just have to slide it under the door of her office, and plead ignorance, if questioned.

Pattern: Elizabeth Zimmermann’s February Baby Sweater.
Needles: Takumi sz. 4 circulars (I think)
Yarn: Knit Picks Palette, in Marble Heather.
Basically, this is almost cute enough to make me want a baby of my own, so that I can put wool things on it, and make it warm.
