IMG_0737Pattern: Gentleman’s Shooting Stockings, from Nancy Bush’s Knitting Vintage Socks.

Needles: sz. 0 Takumi DPN’s

# of Needles Broken While Making These: at least 3

Yarn: Knit Picks Palette in Black

Story: Eating lunch with a group of people last fall, I was knitting– Joe complimented me on the socks I was working on, and then proposed a trade– if I made him a pair of socks, he’d make me a couple of mugs. I agreed. Started a pair for him– but ended up giving them to Zac for Christmas– and thus have only just finished these now.

IMG_0741Pattern: none at all

Needles: sz. 3 addi turbos

Yarn: Elann Silken Kydd (if yarns had stripper names, this would be one of them)

Story: A couple of years ago, I started a double-stranded mohair sweater, ice blue, covered in tiny cables. I don’t know why I ever thought it was a good idea. The sweater lived in a box until today– when it was cast off, ends sewn in, and dubbed a neckwarmer (all it needs is some kind of a pin). I think I’ll like it.

This was Mother’s Day:
