Finally, Elizabeth’s school bag is finished– just in time to be a day late for her birthday.

Pattern: Satchel

Yarn: Knit Picks Wool of the Andes in Coal, 7 skeins insgesamt

Needles: Can’t remember.

Maybe the strap is a little long (and stretchy); maybe the black will show cat hairs a little too readily. This is an almost-exact replica of the bag I carry everywhere (powerfully ugly, quite shapeless, the color of dirt, indestructible, begrudgingly loved), except that the strap is in garter stitch instead of stockinette (less rolly, but more stretchy).

Hopefully she likes it.

Auf Deutsch, wenn man “einsam” ist, fühlt man allein. Aber, wenn man “zweisam” ist, dass heißt das Gefühl der Zusammenheit. Ich finde dass suß.

In German, if a person is “one-ly,” that person feels alone. But, if a person is “two-ly,” that means a feeling of togetherness. I think that’s sweet.

Pattern: one I sort of made up. A twisted-stitch lattice, all around, coming out of the cuff ribbing. Symmetrical increases along the thumb gusset. This was back over Thanksgiving Break; I can’t remember it very well.

Yarn: Knit Picks Palette

Needles: also don’t remember.

Indeed, that is completely dead which moves by external compulsion; but that is alive, which moves by its own interior motion.

I mean. Who could argue?
